Relocated and updated!
Hello! Well fall is upon us and with that is the revamping of MOTH. I am very excited to announce that we have relocated to the beautiful mountains of Boulder, CO! I will be teaching for Frequent Flyers and working again on MOTH, all very exciting!!! With the move though, I have been contemplating a revamping of what MOTH is to me, and how I want the world to see us. I don't think Aerial Dance quite fits who we are, so I am changing the name to MOTH: Poetic Circus. I hope you like it as much as I do! It will take me sometime to change the name on all of my websites and Blogs, but hope you will spread the word. MOTH is still MOTH, just more defined and refined. Looking forward to sharing new work with you all very soon. Blessings from the Mountains!

Cirque Fantasies

Hello!
It has been awhile indeed, but many things have been brewing. The latest news is that Deena will be performing two solo aerial acts this summer for Cirque Fantasies, in Marshfield, MA. Check it out at www.cirquefantasies.com. She has also been working with Cirque Legacy in promoting their new show, "City Life" as well as their solo and group acts. Check that out at www.cirquelegacy.com.
Deena is excited to be working in collaboration with Katrin Leblond, costume and fashion designer from Montreal. She is designing an amazing costume for the solo silks act. Pretty exciting!
One more piece of news, Deena will be working in collaboration with DreamCatcher Entertainment on a new dance film this summer. Stay tuned for news regarding this project. Hope the spring is going well for everyone!

Works in Progress
I have been very busy this year, continuing touring with Cirque Le Masque with Elsie, and of course teaching the Professional Training Program at the New England Center for Circus Arts.
I have been working on a new lyra solo, and will start working on a new act with Aimee on a new chandelier, something we are both very excited about. I'm not sure what the next step is, but I am searching for grants and once my vision is clear, I will be sending out another appeal letter. I am ready for MOTH to be involved in a full production again. Stay tuned!

What's been happening with MOTH you ask?
Well, it was a busy summer and it continues to be a busy fall. I have been touring with a show called Cirque Le Masque, performing two pieces with Elsie Smith, a duo trapeze and a duo silks piece. It has been a great experience.
I was also recently awarded an Artistic Development Grant from Fractured Atlas, through which I will have the honor to work with Shana Carroll of Les Sept Doigts de la Main in Montreal.
Also, I have finally finished my website and would love to share it with you. Please check it out!

We did it!
Thank you to everyone that helped make Channeling come to life! There are so many people that helped out, whether it was as a performer, a donor, production crew, tech crew, volunteers, etc. Everyone was amazing! I feel so blessed to have such a supportive community, and look forward to the next MOTH creation. Now it is time to decompress, relax and hang out with my daughter Ruby. Lot of love to everyone. I'll be posting pics and videos from the show very soon.
Hooray!

Production...
We have assembled our production crew and I feel SO lucky. I have an amazing crew. We are in the final stages of putting our show together, working on getting the word out, piecing costumes together, finishing up choreography, editing music, deciding on lighting, looking for more funding, and getting the set design together. Sigh...all of that and then some. It is certainly coming together and I am so excited. Check in for more pictures from rehearsals soon.

Rectangled
Aimee and I are finally making progress on the vertical rectangle duo...we have entitled it De Anima, meaning On the Soul in latin. The premier of this piece will be at The Latchis Theater here in Brattleboro, for The Affair of the Arts. We have also submitted the piece to the NYC Aerial Dance Festival in May, and of course will be performing in the Channeling debut in April. So much to do, so little time it seems. Photos to come soon.

Working hard.
It has been a while since I last posted on our progress. We have been very busy and I feel like "Channeling" is starting to take shape. Scary how quickly time is flying by though.
Amanda, Aimee and I have finished the basic choreography for the trio horizontal rectangle. Aimee and I are working on a duet on a long thin vertical rectangle, which we will be performing at The Latchis Theater here in Brattleboro on March 7th, for The Affair of the Arts. More details on that soon. Also, Amanda is working on her single point trapeze piece, making progress as she befriends the beast. Bronwyn joins us back in the rehearsal studio once she is done working on the latest incarnation of Nimble Arts' production, The Love Show.
That is the what's what for now...post again soon. And check back for some rehearsal video soon.
Happy February!

We are back at work for our show in May. The four of us got together this morning and worked on character movement. Good progress for a first rehearsal in the year 2009. There is much work to be done. Yikes!
